It seems that the Island Junkyard is where all lost or thrown away objects end up when no longer located in the waking world. The island is in the middle of the Sea of Stars, surrounded by various sea-looking critters that float through the air. It is also decorated all over with all the random junk you could ever hope - or never want - to see. Some of the old children's toys here can talk, by the way.
